Job summary
You will serve as a Senior Contract Specialist in the CONTRACTING DIVISION, PRODUCT/FUNCTIONS DEPARTMENT of CARDEROCK DIV NS. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14. This job is open to UIC's 00167,64486,30492,62701 and 62182 This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10. Major duties
You will serve as a Senior Contract Specialist for acquisitions assigned to members of the incumbent's team. You will be assigned the most complex, time sensitive, high-visibility and/or high priority for the command, and high dollar value procurement actions. You will complete the vast majority of work assigned independently with little to no revisions, and requires limited attention and support from Team Lead and/or Supervisor. You will serve as a senior advisor to members within the Branch and Division, and is also supports Department and Command-wide requirements as needed. You will resolve higher priority conflicts that arise, coordinates work assignments with other contract specialists, and interprets contracting policy that may not have established objectives. You will be required to be extremely well practiced and competent in a diverse set of contracting and compliance matters.
Qualification
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing professional contracting functions, administration or planning for the acquisition or procurement of equipment, supplies, or services in support of acquisition programs. Education
Applicants must meet the following Basic Education Requirement of the Department of Defense Qualification Standard for Contracting Positions: A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees. NOTE: The education requirement listed above applies only to individuals entering DoD GS-1102 positions on or after October 1, 2000. Current civilian personnel in DoD who occupied GS-1102 positions or contracting positions with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000 are exempt from meeting this requirement. Current military members who occupied a similar occupational specialty to the GS (or equivalent) 1102 or before September 30, 2000 are also exempt from meeting this requirement.
