Job summary
You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT ASSISTANT in the Naval Security Force (NSF) Detachment, building 3262, administration section, aboard U.S. Naval Station Rota, Spain.
Major duties
You will accurately track and maintain large loads of administrative files, documents, reports, and projects. You will maintain the DH’s and SEA’s calendars scheduling and canceling appointments as necessary, and ensures that the DH is aware of upcoming events requiring his attendance. You will plan, develop, and provide personnel management to the DH in coordination with the SEA for manpower, personnel and administrative actions and development. You will be responsible for the review of all documents for accuracy, ensuring correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, and format in accordance with the Navy Correspondence Manual and other applicable instructions.
Qualification
I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-5 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of specialized experience for this position include the following: 1) Tracking and maintaining large loads of administrative files, documents, reports, and projects. Uses resources to find answers and produce quality work and service given limited time and resources. 2) Planning, developing, and providing personnel management in coordination with manpower, personnel and administrative actions and development. 3) Analyzing all timekeeping system changes/updates, reports and elevating problems for resolution and tracking resolution to completion. 4) Coordinating, consolidating, tracking and monitoring all military and civilian awards. 5) Reviewing packages for accuracy/completeness and submissions through the necessary approval process. 6) Familiarity with US Navy pay, and personnel pay eligibility and entitlements. Education
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION CONTINUED: Tour of duty will be 36 Months. Standard initial tours of duty are for 36 months with possibility of up to 24-month extension. Must be able to obtain/maintain One-Net access. Pay Retention will be extended to eligible Department of Defense employee who applies through a formal recruitment program and is selected for a position at an overseas location.
