Description

SAIC is hiring a  Windows System Administrator to be located in Pensacola, FL. This position requires the ability to assist with the architectural, engineering, administration of Windows infrastructure, as well as participate in the change process and incident response processes.

The Windows System Administrator will provide:

  • Desktop support of Windows 11 workstations in a Microsoft Active Directory environment.
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2019, 2022, and 2025 support of virtual and physical servers.
  • Management of VMware virtual environments and virtual networking (virtual distributed switches).
  • Basic networking support to include basic troubleshooting.
  • System patching utilizing Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).
  • Conduct system backups and restoral utilizing VEEAM.
  • Verification of system vulnerability compliance by reviewing Security Center / Nessus scans.
  • Verification of system configuration compliance with DISA STIG checklists using automated tools such as Eval-STIG.
  • Outage resolution of information system issues documented in Service Now.
  • System automation through PowerShell scripting & MECM.
  • Provide input for life cycle management of assigned information systems.
  • Perform a variety of routine and non-routine tasks associated with Cyber/Information Security (INFOSEC) and Information Assurance (IA) support in accordance with National and Department of Defense (DoD) standards to include the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Zero Trust.  
  • Conduct systems analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologies, security needs, and user functional requirements.
  • Interact with the engineering management team and senior customer personnel on matters requiring coordination across organizational lines.

Desired skills and experience: 

  • Managing Active Directory and providing desktop support.
  • Implementing Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) security configurations.
  • Utilizing automated security compliance tools such as Eval-STIG.
  • Proficiency with configuration automation tools such as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager. 
  • Managing virtual server infrastructure with VMware vSphere.
  • Performing data backup/restoral with VEEAM. 

Qualifications

Required experience and education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or an Associate's degree and two (2) years of experience; 4 total years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

Required skills: 

  • System administration experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2019/2022/2025 and Windows 10/11. Reviewing ACAS/Nessus vulnerability scans and remediating vulnerabilities on Windows systems.

Certifications: 

  • Must have an active CompTIA Security+ ce certification. 
  • Must be able to obtain Microsoft 365 Certification: Endpoint Administrator Associate (formerly Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate) or equivalent/higher certification within six months of hire.

Clearance required: 

  • Must have a current TS/SCI security clearance.
