Wastewater Plant Operator

Amentum is seeking a Wastewater Plant Operator to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) Mission on Andros Island, Bahamas . AUTEC is a Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport's largest single team project, providing both deep and shallow water test and training environments. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Operate the 120,000 gallon per day for wastewater systems, including the plant and polishing ponds.

• Perform work on wastewater systems in accordance with MAXIMO generated work plans for preventative and corrective maintenance.

• Read and comprehend system technical manuals, drawings and blueprints.

• Perform receipt, issue, storage, spill cleanup, preventative maintenance scheduling, and hazardous waste quality surveillance operations.

• Performs work in accordance with OSHA, NAVOSH and company quality and safety standards, hazardous material control and hazardous waste management program and plan.

• Installs and maintains electrical/mechanical pumps and motors and performs pump to motor alignments.

• Prepare reports and records with accuracy in a timely manner including the daily turn in of completed MAXIMO generated tasks and contractually required reports.

• Research and prepare requisitions to acquire the parts and materials to perform the necessary repairs.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• 3-5 years hands on experience with wastewater treatment plant maintenance and operations.

• Must have a current state Wastewater Plant Operator License.

• Must obtain HAZWOPPER certification within 12 months of hire.

• Strong knowledge of applicable mechanical, plumbing and other technical functions involved in maintenance and operation of wastewater treatment plants.

• Strong knowledge of the materials, tools, and equipment used for the maintenance and operation of water/wastewater plants.

• Read and understand technical/repair manuals and blueprints.

• Computer literate - Windows computer applications, including but not limited to MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.

• Must be physically able to climb stairs & ladders or elevated tanks, climb in and around water piping and access confined spaces for inspection purposes.

• Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds of supplies of varying types.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Must be able to reside in remote location with limited medical facilities.

• A valid U.S. passport and driver's license is required.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
