Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking either a Principal VMware Systems Architect (Level 3) or a Senior Principal VMware Systems Architect (Level 4) with expert knowledge of ground infrastructure requirements and specific automation techniques. This position is located in Redondo Beach, CA.

What you'll get to do?

As a VMware Systems Architect, your duties will include reviewing, understanding and designing VMware information systems to address a wide range of infrastructure requirements. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of cyber hardening / patching. You will offer senior engineering advice, lead others in the development of VMware architectures, and communicate with program leadership on project status.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Principal VMware Systems Architect: 5 years of relevant experience with Bachelors; 3 years of relevant experience with Masters; 1 year of relevant experience with PhD; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Senior Principal VMware Systems Architect: 8 years of relevant experience with Bachelors in Science; 6 years of relevant experience with Masters; 4 years of relevant experience with PhD; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Active SCI/CI Poly required at the time of application
  • Current Security+ CE, CASP, CISSP, or similar DoD 8570 security certification
  • Extensive experience with VMware systems
  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining Classified VMware environments
  • Experience operating and managing systems within current applicable information systems cyber compliance standards in closed areas

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in technical judgment
  • Experience with VMware functions in DRS, HA, Distributed Switches, Aria, RBAC, vSphere, vCenter, stig implementation, host profiles, resource management, log analysis, patching
  • Experience working as part of an Agile development environment
  • Understanding information technologies, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze high level needs utilizing use cases and relate them to requirements
  • Experience with Linux implementation, migration, and maintenance

Primary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
