Job Title: Project Manager

Job Summary:

Support the strategic evolution of our space launch and test range capabilities on the Western Range. This role is embedded in the systems engineering, integration, and test team overseeing third-party development efforts from inception to transition and acceptance.

The role is pivotal in developing the future architecture for the ground and support systems that ensure safe, reliable, and efficient access to space, shaping the future of our launch operations for decades to come.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop project definition/acquisition documentation (RFP, SOW/SOO, CDRLs, schedules, cost estimates, etc.) and work with stakeholders to develop technical documentation to support solicitations.
  • Define the project programmatic requirements to include all aspects of the project lifecycle applicable to each project. Coordinate with other functional areas as necessary to define all project milestones and objectives.
  • Coordinate and lead the effort to evaluate project proposals taking into account cost, schedule and technical compliance.
  • Assists in the staffing of projects. Organizes project team members to ensure communication and understanding of deadlines, assignments, and objectives.
  • Manage costs, schedules, and quality by overseeing project execution and deliverables for multiple projects. Analyze project cost, schedule and performance/scope changes and provide recommendations to minimize/mitigate impacts of changes.
  • Identify and track project risks/issues including integration issues between projects. Provide recommendations to resolve conflicts and mitigate risks/issues.
  • Coordinate, monitor and track support for each project from all functional areas and stakeholders. Ensure timely support is provided and facilitate coordination as needed.
  • Lead the development of the transition/turnover plans and associated documentation, as applicable, for each project
  • Proactively communicate with leadership, customers, and all stakeholders. Act as the single POC for all aspects of project support.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology, engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in project management
  • Experience working with project management methodology such as Catalyst including budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, project management software and finance and accounting concepts and practices
  • Experience working with client vision, business objectives, and critical success factors
  • Experience working with delivery assurance principles and procedures
  • Experience working with techniques and approaches related to architecture, development, integration, and deployment of project phases
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
