SAIC is seeking a highly experienced Systems Engineer to support Space Systems Command Space Combat Power portfolio. Position is available in El Segundo, California.

Fun stuff you will do on the job:

  • Engages with developers to evaluate software simulators, engineering units, and hardware simulators through integration activities.
  • Leads technical requirements development, systems engineering, and oversees development contractor to develop, design, produce, integrate and test space systems.
  • Oversees payload integration and interface control management.
  • Performs system integration of multiple efforts to integrate complex space systems, ground segment integration, and deployment into operations.
  • Manage and negotiate interface control documents with external stakeholders.
  • Performs systems architecting and engineering activities such as system requirements definition, interface definition, design, interface management, data architecture development, systems integration, performance analysis, lifecycle cost analysis & estimation, decision analysis, and development and refinement of communications concepts of operation.
  • Oversees requirements verification and validation.
  • Makes program risks assessments and provides actionable recommendations to the chief engineer and program manager.
  • Independently collaborates with Government program office representatives, FFRDC, SETA, and contractor personnel.

Qualifications

This is you:

  • Bachelor of Science and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Master's and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD and nine (9) years or more experience.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI and be willing to consent to a polygraph examination.
  • Experience with space systems development, integration, and/or operations of DoD or other Agency (NRO, NSA, NASA, etc.).
  • Experience leading systems engineering teams focused on integration of complex space and ground systems.
  • Experience with system engineering processes and demonstrable expertise developing ground architectures for mission-critical systems.
  • Background supporting or leveraging IMINT or SIGINT Intelligence discipline
  • Demonstrated expertise in government acquisition strategies, documentation development, and full lifecycle program management.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to brief government stakeholders at all levels.

Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
