Description

SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering (OUSW(R&E)). This role requires an active Secret clearance and provides hybrid work flexibility, with on-site support required at the Mark Center in Alexandria, VA.

Responsibilities:

  • Support systems engineering activities across requirements analysis, architecture development, and technical integration.
  • Develop system-level documentation including requirements, interface definitions, technical specifications, and engineering plans.
  • Evaluate system performance, identify risks or gaps, and recommend technical solutions.
    Coordinate with stakeholders to capture mission needs and translate them into actionable system requirements.
  • Assist in systems planning, trade studies, engineering reviews, and technical assessments.
    Provide technical support for capability development, modernization efforts, and technology transition activities.
  • Prepare engineering briefings, reports, and decision-support materials for senior leadership.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Secret clearance.
  • US citizenship

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Experience:

  • 3–5 years of experience in systems engineering, system integration, or technical program support.
  • Experience developing requirements, conducting analysis, or supporting systems architecture activities.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering frameworks, methodologies, or lifecycle processes.
  • Experience supporting technical or government programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with requirements management tools or modeling environments (e.g., DOORS, Cameo, SysML).
