SAIC is seeking a Systems Administrator to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama.

This position will sit at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama.

This position the backbone of the infrastructure that enables critical Missile Defense planning. You will manage and secure the computing environments where software engineers, radar analysts, and operators develop, test, and deploy the FBM Planner and its associated suite of tools. Your work ensures that high-fidelity threat models, precise terrain data, and tactical radar logs are securely processed and accessible, directly supporting the Warfighter's speed to decision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provision, configure, and maintain the development, testing, and distributed production Linux environments hosting the FBM Planner software suite.
  • Implement and maintain DoD cybersecurity postures. Apply Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), manage Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs), and support Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditation packages.
  • Administer user accounts and role-based access controls (RBAC) across secure networks.
  • Design and execute robust backup, disaster recovery, and continuity of operations (COOP) plans to ensure zero downtime during critical simulation events or live tests.

Qualifications

Required Education:

Bachelors and zero (0) years or more experience; four (4) years of experience considered in lieu of degree. 

Qualifications:

  •  DoD 8570/8140 Compliance: Must hold a current DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification Linux Certification.
  • Experience administering Linux (e.g., RHEL) operating systems.
  • Proficiency in scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for system automation.
  • Hands-on experience with DISA STIG viewer, SCAP Compliance Checker, and vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., ACAS/Nessus).

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous experience operating within a DoD Modeling & Simulation (M&S) or tactical laboratory environment.
  • Familiarity with deploying and managing containerized applications (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Clearance:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must possess an Active DoD Secret clearance.
