SUPPLY CHAIN PLANNER (AKOUSTIS/STARLINK)

Akoustis is now operating as a wholly owned subsidiary of SpaceX providing industry leading RF filters using patented XBAW technology to help drive the mission of making human life multi-planetary, while also connecting the world through Starlink. As a member of the Akoustis Supply Chain team you will manage the demand plan and sourcing for hardware used to manufacture Akoustis BAW filters. Akoustis has a unique ability and desire to influence and shape suppliers as we challenge our supply chain in terms of cost, quality and speed of execution. The functions within the Akoustis Planning department include procurement, planning and fulfillment, supplier development and quality, logistics and inventory. This role's scope will help enable rate production in the satellite factory of the future! We are seeking an experienced and motivated Planner to join our fast-paced supply chain team to help drive the success of Starlink in manufacturing world-class RF filters.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor and continuously improve both Akoustis demand and supply plans
  • Initiate purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of material to support customer requirements
  • Track material from Fab wafer completion to final manufacturing and order fulfillment
  • Manage inventory to prevent stock outs while maintaining healthy inventory levels
  • Work directly with key suppliers to develop and implement sourcing and cost management strategies that support existing platforms and new product development
  • Manage costs aggressively to ensure adherence to project-specific budgets and forecasts
  • Ensure that suppliers are prepared to support all prototype builds with appropriate equipment and material to ensure successful product development, ramp up and mass production
  • Develop, manage, and maintain strong supplier partnerships

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree and 1+ years of experience working in one or more of the following; or 4+ years of experience working in one or more of the following in lieu of a degree:
    • Material or production planning
    • Purchasing
    • Operations or supply chain management
    • Master production scheduling
    • Engineering
    • Contract negotiation
    • Material cost control

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Familiarity with D365 ERP systems and purchasing/planning functions
  • Strong track record of leadership and team-building skills
  • Experience in production purchasing preferred
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, organizational and customer service skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needs
  • SQL Experience
  • PowerBI experience
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and Project, able to create pivot tables or macros, and analyze data
  • Experience navigating multitier Bill of Materials and work orders
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment
  • Able to conduct all activities with the highest of integrity
  • Understanding of block-chain powered supply chain platforms to boost efficiency, traceability, and transparency

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Position occasionally requires the ability to work extended hours and weekends when needed
  • This position is based Bastrop, TX and requires being onsite, remote work is not considered
