Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opening for a supply chain planning analyst to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals in Sunnyvale, California. This exciting role supports the Maritime/Land Systems & Sensors division, which supports the Submarine Industrial Base and performs on Northrop Grumman’s existing programs and platforms while also exploring exciting and new opportunities to shape Northrop Grumman’s portfolio of the future.  This is a full-time onsite role at our Sunnyvale, CA facility.

The position will require the individual to lead a team responsible for the cost, schedule, and performance of suppliers for the operating unit and be responsible for all phases of the program effort from the initiation of the supplier strategy and proposal phase through negotiation/negotiation strategy, award, execution, and management of supplier activities to meet program objectives. This individual will be responsible for mission success of their supply chain responsibilities and ensure their suppliers perform to the committed schedules, terms, conditions, and contractual requirements/specifications and drawings. The successful candidate will hold strong leadership characteristics, excellent oral and written skills, solid negotiation skills, knowledge of terms and conditions, and an aptitude for DoD contracting and the ability to lead a diverse team with varying requirements and priorities in support of the business.

Additional responsibilities include but, are not limited to:

  • Interface/collaborate with other functions of the program team.
  • Analyzes and aggregates supply / demand requirements.
  • Planning and coordinating program requirements.
  • Monitoring and establishing material inventory.
  • CAM/EV reporting.
  • Addressing supplier capacity and/or production issues.
  • Evaluating suppliers and noting key performance indicators.
  • Leveraging your skills and talents throughout this role.
  • Forecasts material receipts and communicates variances to forecast.
  • Creates/releases requisitions.
  • Receives/reviews requirements for non-standard parts.
  • Analyzes lead times and identifies critical path procurements.
  • Develop/understand the proposal/execution strategy and structures.
  • Maintain a strong business acumen and ability to operate in a fast paced development environment that consists of leading edge technology suppliers and non-traditional supply base.
  • Defines and develops material strategy.
  • Plans inventory, distribution requirements, production, material and rough-cut capacity for all products.
  • Participates in make/buy process, long-term capacity and resource planning, product phase-in/phase-out, manufacturing ramp-up, end-of-life management and product-line management. Analyzes purchase material supply/demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools.
  • Plans inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements. Creates/reduces supply requirements based on inventory adjustments.
  • Participates in long-term capacity and resource planning to ensure proper scheduling of new product line phase-ins as well as existing product line phase-outs.
  • Interfaces with Source process area regarding inventory levels, working capital and other areas as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of experience in supply chain/business/program management, or, Master’s Degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain, program management,  business management
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • US Citizen
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance

Preferred Qualifications for the Principal:

  • Experience in Earned Value Management Systems
  • ASCM/APICS Supply Chain Certifications
  • Experience Leading cross-functional teams in supplier onboarding and certification efforts
  • Extensive experience in managing critical submarine industrial supply base
  • Extensive background in technical and engineering requirements for industrial and manufacturing contracts

Primary Level Salary Range: $146,300.00 - $219,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
