Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Staff Crew & Equipment Design Engineer (Level 5) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future.  This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.

In this role, you will support the achievement of program requirements through design and integration of crew and equipment systems. 

The selected candidate will be one who excels in a dynamic work environment with high expectations and diverse assignments. Success requires strong collaboration across teams and a proactive, self-driven approach with minimal direction.

Key Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop Interface Control Documents (ICDs), layouts, and detailed drawings for crew and equipment installations.

  • Create NX models and lead equipment integration activities.

  • Collaborate with suppliers to support integration efforts and ensure program objectives.

  • Represent the team at internal program meetings, customer and supplier technical exchanges, and formal milestone reviews to provide or obtain progress updates.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 12 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related professional/military experience.

  • Must have an active US Government Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).

  • Ability to obtain and maintain US Government Top Secret clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.

  • Experience in supplier relationship management, including briefing, coordinating, and/or following up with suppliers.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with software tools such as NX, CPLM, or similar.

  • Experience interpreting component detail drawings, specifications, installation drawings, and/or test procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active US Government Top Secret clearance or higher (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

  • Experience writing and reviewing technical documents including SSOWs, SRDs, ICDs, and SDRL reviews.

  • Experience leading, mentoring, and developing multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver complex technical solutions within cost and schedule constraints across engineering lifecycle phases.

       

Primary Level Salary Range: $152,900.00 - $229,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
