Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opening for a Sr. Principal Chief Engineer - Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead that is ready to work across functions to help drive test equipment design, hardware movement in the factory/test, document issues, and drive improvement plans. This position is located in Linthicum, MD.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead an engineering team working to transition designs to production for a very important sector priority program with many time-critical elements and high management visibility.
- Interface with Engineering & Program Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Mission Assurance.
- Brief internal and potentially external customer leadership on progress.
- Perform in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings.
- The selected candidates are expected to be self-motivated, highly organized, and detail oriented and possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
This role is contingent upon candidates having an Active DoD Secret Clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or STEM-related discipline with 8 years of industry experience, or master’s degree and 6 years industry experience (with a BS in STEM)
- Must have a current/active Secret clearance. Secret clearance is required to start. Must be able to maintain this level of clearance and obtain and maintain a SAP clearance for continued employment.
- General Knowledge of Test Equipment design and manufacturing
- 1-year minimum as an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead or equivalent where responsibilities included: project planning, cost & schedule management including tracking, team tasking / leadership, and status reporting.
- 1-year minimum working experience with knowledge of Global Supply Chain and Manufacturing Material Processing
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience moving hardware through the BWI factory and test
- Experience reporting project status to program, functional management and customers
- Knowledge of the Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
- Experience driving recovery through development and execution of return to green plans
- Knowledge of Risk and Opportunity management
- PMP certification a plus
- Active and current Top Secret government clearance a plus
