Job Description

L3Harris is seeking a Systems Integration & Test Engineer to support the integration, verification, and test of complex electronic and embedded systems. This role is responsible for supporting system integration and test activities across the development lifecycle, with a focus on ensuring subsystem and system-level performance, functionality, and compliance with program requirements.

The engineer will support the Lead Integration & Test Engineer in the development of integration plans, procedures, interconnect cabling, and interface diagrams, while also planning lower-level test sequences and execution details. This role includes responsibility for troubleshooting test failures, developing test procedures, supporting implementation and checkout of special test equipment (STE), test sets, and test software, and evaluating analysis tools needed for verification.

This position also supports system-level testing by integrating component subsystems into a complete system and ensuring those subsystems function together as intended. The engineer should be capable of developing test plans and procedures to support production, qualification, and environmental testing, as well as performing analytical assessments for embedded RF systems. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting of hardware issues for Electronic Warfare systems and conducting root cause analysis for system test failures.

The ideal candidate is a strong technical contributor who can work across multiple engineering disciplines, solve complex problems through detailed analysis and investigation, and help improve system and test processes to enhance overall program execution.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the Lead Integration & Test Engineer in the development of integration plans, procedures, and execution strategies.
  • Develop and maintain interconnect cabling documentation, interface diagrams, and lower-level integration and test sequences.
  • Perform system, subsystem, and component integration to ensure proper functionality and compatibility.
  • Develop test plans and procedures to support development, production, qualification, and environmental testing.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and system-level test failures and perform root cause analysis.
  • Support implementation, checkout, and validation of special test equipment, test sets, and test software.
  • Evaluate and apply analysis tools to support verification and troubleshooting activities.
  • Troubleshoot embedded RF systems and support resolution of technical issues related to system performance.
  • Work closely with Systems Engineering, Design Engineering, Production, and other cross-functional teams to support integration and test objectives.
  • Communicate technical issues, test results, and recommended actions within and outside the immediate function, including with external parties such as customers or vendors when needed.
  • Contribute to improvements in systems, test processes, and execution methods to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Support time-critical activities, including overtime and/or second shift work when required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Skilled in communicating complex engineering issues to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders through written and oral presentation
  • Experience with Electronic Warfare systems.
  • Experience with embedded systems, RF hardware, and system-level verification.
  • Familiarity with special test equipment, automated test systems, and test software.
  • Ability to support customer-facing test events and technical discussions.
  • Willingness to work overtime and/or second shift as needed to support program demands
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in system integration and test of complex electronic, embedded, and/or radio frequency (RF)-based systems.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience developing test plans, test procedures, and test configurations for system verification activities.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience troubleshooting hardware and system-level issues, including performing root cause analysis and documenting findings.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience supporting production testing and/or environmental testing of electronic or embedded systems.
  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience performing analytical assessments for embedded RF systems, including evaluation of performance, test results, and technical issues.
  • Demonstrated experience working across multiple engineering disciplines, such as systems, electrical, software, RF, manufacturing, or test engineering, in a collaborative development environment.
  • Demonstrated analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills in support of integration, verification, and test activities
  • Active US DoD SECRET security clearance
    • If none, must be able to attain clearance
