Summary

Job Description

The Field Engineering Specialist will be responsible for performing aircraft servicing, inspections, troubleshooting and repair of all aircraft systems in accordance with applicable technical data.

Essential Functions:

  • Towing and positioning aircraft.  
  • Flying with the aircraft to provide off station maintenance support, removes and installs aircraft avionics, hydraulic components, landing gear, tires, and struts.  
  • Performing engine removals and installations. 
  • Checking for work correctness.
  • Analyzes equipment failures to determine cause and recommends corrective action in accordance with applicable aircraft maintenance manuals. 
  • Implements preventive maintenance programs, documents performance and maintenance records on aircraft and equipment. 
  • Willing and able to lift, bend, and climb.
  • Required travel to CONUS and OCONUS.  
  • Daily interface with customers at numerous levels.
  • Use, Understand, and interpret a wide variety of technical data from OEM manuals to engineering drawings.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work alone or within a group.
  • Able to work extended hours and weekends when required.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with four (4) years of experience performing aircraft servicing, inspections, troubleshooting and repair of all aircraft systems.
  • Graduate Degree with two (2) years of experience performing aircraft servicing, inspections, troubleshooting and repair of all aircraft systems.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of eight (8) years of experience performing aircraft servicing, inspections, troubleshooting and repair of all aircraft systems.
  • Will be required to Maintain flight status requirements.
  • Must have a valid A&P License.
  • Must be able to pass FAA Class III flight physical and complete altitude chamber training within the first 3-6 months.
  • Valid Driver’s License is required.
  • Must have an active Secret DoD Clearance at the time of hire.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • DHC-6, Caravan 208B, CN235 & CN295 experience.
  • Dehaviland, Textron and Airbus Aircraft / PWC and GE engine experience.
