Summary

Job Description

As a Shipping and Receiving Associate, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials in and out of our facility. You'll be responsible for receiving, inspecting, and organizing incoming shipments, as well as preparing and shipping outgoing orders accurately and on time. This role requires strong attention to detail, a sense of ownership, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while supporting inventory accuracy and overall operations.

Responsibilities

  • Process incoming shipments and packages at our Torrance, CA facility.
  • Inspect incoming deliveries for damage, verify quantities against packing slips, and confirm accuracy against purchase orders.
  • Receive and label indirect materials and route direct materials to the Inventory team for processing.
  • Prepare outbound shipments by identifying, pulling, packaging, labeling, and staging materials for carrier pickup.
  • Package materials according to shipping requirements and coordinate secure and timely shipments with carriers.
  • Expedite the flow of materials through receiving to support development and production schedules.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment to move materials throughout the facility.
  • Assist with inventory organization and ensure materials are properly labeled and stored.
  • Identify discrepancies in shipments or documentation and resolve issues quickly to maintain operational efficiency.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • 2+ years of forklift or material-handling equipment experience with a valid certification.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately enter and manage data in digital systems.
  • Ability to work onsite in Torrance, CA.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed to support operational requirements.
  • Ability to handle physical workload, including lifting packages up to 25–75 lbs throughout the shift.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience with ERP, MES, or warehouse management systems, as well as the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience packaging and handling hazardous materials shipments.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies in shipment documentation and proactively resolve issues.
  • Experience working in aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing environments.
  • Active U.S. Government security clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
