MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a ServiceNow Developer Principal, the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of our customers. You will play a crucial role via the following:
- Build and customize applications on the ServiceNow platform, including ITSM modules like Incident, Problem, and Change Management
- Connect the ServiceNow platform with other systems and applications using technologies like REST/SOAP.
- Create custom scripts, including Business Rules and Script Includes, to automate processes and meet business requirements
- Perform administrative tasks, such as user and role management, system maintenance, and health checks
- Customize user interfaces, forms, and workflows to align with business needs
- Provide end-user support and troubleshooting for issues related to integrated processes and platform functionality
- Work with end users, stakeholders, and management to define and create reports, dashboards, and data analysis products
- Contribute to IT-related technical processes reviews, postmortems, and continual process improvement
- Create estimations on effort required to produce ServiceNow functionality
- Grow junior talent through mentoring, partnership, and technical reviews
- Maintain current ServiceNow and industry certifications, while obtaining additional certifications
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The ServiceNow Developer Principal must have:
Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree
Experience: 5+ years of related experience
Required Skills:
- Experience in developing and customizing ServiceNow applications and modules, especially ITSM
- Proficiency with integration methods like SOAP, REST, and web services, including creating and consuming them
- Strong scripting skills with at least one language - preferably JavaScript
- Experience with ServiceNow's data management tools such as Import Sets, Transform Maps, and the CMDB
- Ability to analyze requirements, troubleshoot issues, and develop effective technical solutions.
- Excellent understanding of the Agile software testing process and lifecycle, from smoke test to integration to production deployment
- Ability to identify, understand, document, and create functionality aligning with customer value streams
- Ability to produce level of estimates and basic deployment plans for ServiceNow functionality
- Strong organizational and time management skills while working in a rapid software development environment
- Ability to identify and learn new technologies quickly
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
Required Certification:
- Active ServiceNow Certified Systems Administrator or ability to obtain within 30 days of start
- Additional ServiceNow certifications strongly preferred

The likely salary range for this position is $123,250 - $166,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
