Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer / Principal Systems Engineer - Supplier Management Support and Requirements Management. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program. The successful candidate will support the Aerospace Vehicle Equipment Team across the full systems-engineering life cycle, from early development through verification.

Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Collaborate with the program Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) stakeholders to analyze, develop, and decompose the suppliers’ statements of work (SSOW) into DOORS requirements

  • Manage and maintain SSOWs in DOORS

  • Work with both technical teams and non-technical teams including business, supply chain and supporting functions to ensure correctness and completeness of suppliers’ contractual requirements

  • Support Aerospace Vehicle Equipment (AVE) Supplier Technical Managers (SMT's) in technical negotiating the SSOWs with suppliers

  • Support AVE Requirements and Verification Team by completing assignments to ensure alignment between SSOW and program allocated baseline.

  • Analyze, develop and decompose requirements to mature allocated baseline, support verification planning, including defining verification objectives.

  • Key reviewer of supplier deliverables

Basic Qualifications:

  • Systems Engineer -  Supplier Management Support: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 2 years of experience or Masters degree in STEM discipline

  • Principal Systems Engineer - Supplier Management Support: Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university with 5 years of related experience, 3 years with Masters, 1 year with PhD.            

Basic Qualifications for both levels:

  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.

  • Experience in core systems engineering including at least one of the following (with minimum of 1 year for Principal Systems Engineer Level):

    • Requirements management /analysis/allocations using DOORS

    • Interfaces analysis and interface requirements development

    • Technical project management

    • Specification writing and traceability analysis

    • Development of requirements verification planning

    • Development of interface requirements verification planning

Preferred Qualifications     

  • Experience in more than one phases of the Systems Engineering V-Model (requirements, design, analysis, integration, testing, verification, and validation)

  • Experience with requirements management in DOORS

  • Experience with ICBM weapons systems

  • Prior work experience with complex system development supporting major aerospace and/or defense programs

  • Experience with Project and Program Management

  • Control Account Management

  • Experience with formal business correspondence and/or contractual requirements writing and interpretation

  • Understanding and experience with DFARS is a plus

  • Experience working with specialties engineering disciplines: nuclear surety, cybersecurity

  • Experience with deliverables verification

  • Experience with suppliers’ risk and performance management

This position’s standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
