Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an Flight Systems Software Execution Manager 3 for the Sentinel Program, located at the SDS headquarters in Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL.

What You Will Get To Do:

As the Program Manager, you serve as the IFC Lead for Flight Systems and report to the GSI Director. This role represents all Flight Systems Software across the portfolio, providing cross-program leadership, governance, and integration. The leader will drive portfolio-level metrics, ensure adherence to processes and procedures, brief executive leadership, and act as the primary liaison with DevOps to enable predictable, high-quality software delivery.

The selected candidate will provide technical project leadership and drive integration of products across multiple sub-teams. The candidate will be expected to lead the planning, execution, architecture and design, feature development, and metrics of all program Integrated Functional Capabilities (IFCs). Expected duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Integrate with the Software Factory to ensure alignment of development, integration, and delivery for IFC and Flight Systems Software.
  • Develop, drive, and manage comprehensive plans for IFC execution, certification, and delivery of all required artifacts.
  • Aggregate, analyze, and report program and IFC metrics; lead the Data Analytics and Metrics team in dashboard development and progress tracking.
  • Prepare and deliver executive briefings, communicating status, risks, and recommendations to leadership.
  • Oversee technical architecture, feature roadmaps, and requirements definition for IFC; ensure integration across engineering and customer teams.
  • Coordinate with DevOps, Build & Integration, Alpha Integration, and Emulation/Simulation teams to support release readiness and environment health.
  • Manage P&L, cost/schedule performance, and EVMS/CAM responsibilities for IFC and software scope.
  • Ensure process compliance, risk and opportunity management, and audit readiness.
  • Lead and mentor teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and high performance.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Science with at least 8 years of related experience; OR at least 6 Years of relevant experience with a Master's degree or an additional 4 years in lieu of degree.
  • US Citizenship with Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years.
  • Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
  • Experience applying engineering process and procedures to complex development and production efforts.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Advanced degrees in Science, Technology, Engineer, or Mathematics or other related technical fields.
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance or higher
  • Experience leading groups of 30+ in a programmatic, or technical capacity.
  • High proficiency in technical problem solving and systems engineering support across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Strong leadership qualities, including excellent communication and collaboration, team engagement, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse engineering teams and attract, recruit, and develop top talent.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and execute on large and complex systems engineering or integration efforts.
  • Experience in leading the planning and execution of Integrated Functional Capabilities (IFCs).
  • Experience with Incremental Planning & Tracking
  • Experience with Integrated Master Schedule & Earned Value Management
  • Experience with Atlassian Jira
  • Experience with flight systems, embedded/real-time software, or avionics domains.
  • Familiarity with large-scale program governance frameworks (e.g., Agile at scale, CMMI, quality and mission assurance standards).
  • Proficiency with program metrics tooling and dashboards (e.g., Jira, GitLab/GitHub, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, DOORS, Confluence, Tableau/Power BI).
  • Experience supporting formal audits, technical reviews, and compliance activities.
  • Demonstrated success leading process improvement and transformation initiatives.

Primary Level Salary Range: $166,700.00 - $276,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
