Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Horizontal Integration and Test Liaison Staff Systems Engineer (level 5) to join the team located in Roy, UT in support of the Sentinel program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities, and associated infrastructure.
What you will get to do:
The Horizontal Integration and Test Liaison will support system verification, test planning, and operations for the integration of the AVE. Responsibilities include collaborating with a team of System Integration & Test (I&T) engineers, risk managers, and project managers through the product life cycle, from initial requirement analysis for testability to designing and developing test plans and workflows.
The Horizontal Integration and Test Liaison will work closely with internal element teams, including integration and test engineering, systems engineering, software engineering, mission, payload, quality, risk, and operations. This role will support integration, test and operation efforts throughout the AVE product life cycle.
The Horizontal Integration and Test Liaison will help define complex test strategies to verify mission capabilities while working with a team composed of multiple internal organizations for the full integration and testing of the AVE system. They will be responsible for identifying enabling strategies to manage test implementation and execution from a systems engineering perspective and to ensure the tests executed, at all levels of integrations, support verification and provide the necessary data to prove compliance with the hardware to the requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) with 12 years of experience; or master’s degree with 10 years of experience; or PhD with 8 years of experience
- Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
- 5 years of experience as an independent contributor, able to determine scope of work without a set of discrete deliverables
- 3 years of demonstrated experience leading cross organizational collaboration
- 3 years of back-end systems engineering experience (verification planning, execution, and system sell-off) and/or experience in test planning and execution
- 3 years of experience on the verification/test/integration of large complex systems
- 3 years of experience using DOORS and/or MBSE software such as CAMEO and MagicDraw
- 3 years of experience with risk and opportunity development and management within a commercial or aerospace program environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on aerospace/defense systems (space payloads, spacecraft bus, ground systems, environmental testing)
- Experience through all phases of the system engineering lifecycle
- Experience with model verification and validation
- Test Bed Planning and Execution
- Experience with hardware and software requirements testability, definition, block diagrams, interconnect diagrams, and software & hardware integration
- Competence with risk management tools and processes

This position’s standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Primary Level Salary Range: $152,900.00 - $229,300.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
