Summary

Job Description

As a Sr. Specialist, IT Secure, you will design, implement, and support enterprise Windows, VMware, and RHEL environments. Acting as a self-driven contributor within a team, you will participate in the full system lifecycle, including development, testing, and production validation. You will apply automation frameworks to improve efficiency, consistency, and reliability while engineering solutions that support both current operations and future program requirements.

Essential Functions

  • Execute duties with minimal to no oversight, proactively identifying and addressing areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with IT system administration, security, and regulatory standards, including JSIG, NIST 800 series, and DoD Manuals Vol. 1–4.
  • Support system design, engineering enhancements, and process improvements across environments.
  • Assist in planning, developing, and implementing automation solutions and workflows.
  • Monitor, track, and present technical performance metrics for IT systems.
  • Analyze system capacity and performance to align with operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with development teams to assess and plan for future growth and scalability.
  • Maintain and support IT systems, ensuring stability, availability, and security.
  • Present technical designs and participate in design reviews with stakeholders.
  • Contribute to proposal efforts, including technical input and cost considerations.
  • Travel up to 5% as required.
  • Obtain and maintain additional clearances as required.
  • Lift up to 30 to 50 lbs.
  • Work on your feet up to 50% of the day.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. 
  • Active Top Secret clearance

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Experience with Linux in an enterprise environment, including RHEL, CentOS, and Fedora.
  • Experience with scripting and automation, including Bash, Python, and Ansible.
  • Experience with Windows in an enterprise environment, including Server 2019, Exchange, and MDT/WDS.
  • Experience with VMware in an enterprise environment, including vSphere, vCenter, and vSAN.
  • Experience with network storage solutions, including SAN/NAS, NetApp, MSA, iSCSI, and FCP.
  • Experience with industry frameworks and methodologies, including ITIL, Agile, Scrum, DevOps, and SRE.
  • Experience designing and administering VMware infrastructure.
  • Experience with Cisco routing and switching environments, including network topology design, VLAN configuration, and virtualization integration.Experience with SIEM tools (i.e. Splunk)
  • Experience with Tenable.SC deployment & configuration
  • Experience with PDQ Deploy and Inventory Windows patch management tool

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $96,000 - $178,000. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, and Vermont is $84,000 - $156,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
