Job Description
In this position, the Sr. Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing and measuring communications that reflect the vision and strategic direction of the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance business sector. The scope includes marketing and communications leveraging a variety of channels to reach key audiences. The role requires exceptional writing abilities, a strong understanding of aerospace and defense, and the capacity to translate complex concepts into clear, engaging content. In addition, this position will evaluate and synthesize communications measures to increase impact and drive insights.
Essential Functions:
- Must be able to obtain a security clearance.
- Serve as deputy communications lead, providing continuity of leadership and decision-making.
- Lead rapid response communications for program and personnel issues to protect the brand.
- Provide subject matter expert training and manage tools and templates.
- Work closely with division Vice Presidents and General Managers and the senior leadership team to develop, implement and measure an integrated communications program aligned to the business strategy.
- Create thoughtful, innovative and engaging communications content to reach a variety of audiences. Develop key messages and materials that align with our company's mission, values and strategic goals.
- Partner with Business Development on marketing communications campaigns to support keep-sold, capture and growth initiatives.
- Support the deployment of change initiatives by developing internal communications for the division Vice Presidents and General Managers to educate, inspire and motivate, advising on local preferences, global best practices and culture.
- Write and create the division Vice Presidents and General Manager’s communications tactics including speeches, thought leadership, reports and executive correspondence.
- Conduct comprehensive research to develop metrics for the divisions’ communications program. Monitor aerospace and defense industry trends, emerging technologies and other pertinent topics to support communication objectives.
- Monitor industry and ISR-related news, delivering weekly insights and coverage summaries
- Review and edit written content for accuracy, clarity and consistency in tone and style.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
- Manage multiple writing projects under tight deadlines, adapting to changing priorities as needed.
- Collaborate with various teams, including marketing, public relations and subject matter experts, to gather information and insights.
- Lead tradeshow communications plans.
- Willingness to travel.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry highly desired
- Experience in communicating complex topics to a general audience
- Experience in corporate communications, journalism or military public affairs
