Overview

The position is in the growing AUKUS Program Office. Working for the International Programs Program Supervisor, you will be supporting the United Kingdoms design development of the common Australia-UK submarine. You will aid the UK shipbuilding industry, via the United States Navy, with technical, logistical, and programmatic support in designing the new submarine SSN-AUKUS. The AUKUS Program Office will provide you exposure to all facets of the Electric Boat enterprise, including Design and Engineering, Planning, Finance, Contracts, Legal, ITAR, Construction, and Facilities. You will encounter new challenges every day where you can gain expertise and leverage your experience in new ways. The Program Office not only defines the overarching goals for a program, but it also establishes the tactical and strategic plans to get it there.

You will be responsible for executing tasking from our customer: coordinate the development of technical information packages for transmission to the UK; chair periodic meetings with the US and Royal Navies, and other UK customers; oversee briefings to all concerned parties; develop post-event summaries with action items; and direct completion of assigned items. You will coordinate foreign and domestic travel for Electric Boat Subject Matter Experts; prepare for visits by foreign nationals to Electric Boat and our vendors; and develop program status reports, staffing plans, and budgets. You must ensure compliance with regulations, policies, procedures, and training.

Candidates will be expected to have frequent interface with US and foreign customers, and comply with federally mandated import/export regulations.There will also be frequent interface and coordination with EB functional groups (Legal, Security, Contracts, and Finance).

This is a full - time, in office position. Some travel may be involved.

This position will be based out of Groton, CT. Occasional foreign and domestic travel may be requested, but not required.

  • Ability to create and develop dynamic teams consisting of Engineering, Design, Sustainment/ILS, and Program Office to provide support for various taskings
  • Develop and maintain strong, credible relationships with AUKUS Program international stakeholders and partners
  • Ability to monitor program performance, identify risks, and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Ability to prepare and present program reports to senior management and stakeholders
  • Ability to create executable policies and procedures, and ensure compliance
  • Proficient with Microsoft (Excel, Power Point & Word)


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related Technical Degree (B.S. in Applied Mathematics, IT, Physics)
  • 5 - 14 years of Project Management / Program Office training/experience

Preferred:

  • 5+ years at Electric Boat as a Program Representative
  • Submarine operations or construction experience
  • Experience with material procurement, purchasing, and/or vendor management
  • Previous experience with import/export controls and/or international programs
