Summary

Job Description

The Sr. Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for driving, influencing, and achieving EHS process excellence, regulatory compliance, and overall risk reduction throughout. This role also supports the development and execution of of ground-breaking aircraft engineering, test, production, and maintenance safety programs for the next generation of unmanned airpower. Reporting to the Corporate EHS Manager Program Manager, the position is instrumental in upholding world-class safety standards and engaging with senior engineering and operations leadership to facilitate continuous safety improvements and risk reduction.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, excelling in both independent and team-driven projects, and responsive to concerns raised by managers and employees. They possess strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, along with keen analytical abilities and attention to detail. This candidate thrives in an environment where exceptional work is encouraged, recognized, and rewarded. Based in Frisco, TX, this position requires occasional regional travel to aircraft test flight locations.

Required qualifications:

    The ideal candidate would have 3+ years working in either aerospace, or automotive manufacturing, construction, or military environments. An expert level of understanding around chemical, electrical, lifting/rigging safety risks. This individual should have the ability to quickly dissect technical safety planning of testing, building, and maintaining equipment being operated in a manufacturing environment.
    Additionally, the ideal candidate has the following:
  • Proven track record of supporting engineering teams in fast-paced, high-performance environments, with at least 3+ years of hands-on experience in Aerospace, Automotive, and/or Construction environments
  • Proficient in developing and implementing safety programs compliant with regulatory requirements, a deep understanding of Electrical Standards (OSHA, NFPA 70-E) and practical experience with energized equipment is a plus
  • Capable of adapting to a fast-paced, globally expanding organization using a 'first-principles' approach, coupled with strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting across senior management, regulators, and production staff
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities, attention to detail, problem-solving expertise, the capacity to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment, and the ability to work independently and as a proactive, creative team player
  • Proven skills in managing complex, multidisciplinary projects and assignments with accountability for outcomes, including experience in training and educating employees in EHS initiatives
