The RPC Production Technologies Staff Engineer demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet strategic business needs, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy in rotating parts and compressor airfoil (RPCA) commodities.

This position requires cross-functional collaboration with the Rotating Parts and Compressor Airfoils Value Stream (RPCAVS) counterparts to improve the producibility, quality, and delivery. Qualified candidates for this hands-on role will identify areas of improvements to both GE processes and procedures in the areas of Engineering, supply chain quality, and manufacturing.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute with limited guidance the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements

  • Identify/Support Engineering producibility and RCCA projects through virtual and on-site reviews of processes and hardware.

  • Provide cross-functional technical leadership to personnel supporting assigned projects.

  • Drive MRB & losses reductions, standard work adoption, and commonality in assigned projects.

  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree accredited  college or university in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science +  Minimum of 5 years of aerospace engineering experience or the role

  • Resident engineer/engineer in the shop experience
