Overview

This is a non-supervisory procurement position, reporting to the Supervisor of Information Technology (IT) Procurement as part of the IT Finance and Procurement group. The functions include sourcing items such as computer hardware, computer software, Licensing Agreements, and IT Professional Services. IT Procurement, working together with the Materials Management Organization, is seeking a candidate that will be responsible for all aspects of IT Materials Management and supplier interface. This is a full time, on-site position currently located in Groton, CT at the Poheganut office.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with development and implementation of procedures to guide technology sourcing
  • Demonstrated agility in dynamic and evolving environment requiring a shift in priorities
  • Respond to internal requisitions for technology products and services in accordance with existing company and departmental policies
  • Manage supplier relationships and act as primary point of contact to ensure continuity of technology goods and services
  • Develop and execute negotiation strategies to achieve financial savings and mitigate company risk
  • Responsible for bid development, cost/price analysis, composing purchase orders, & budget management, all in accordance with EB acquisition policies and procedures
  • Set standards across EB and with suppliers of professionalism, fair competition, and sound judgement
  • Maintain a working knowledge of applicable federal regulations and internal policies and procedures to enable conformity through daily function
  • Prepare well-written, succinct and compliant approval packages for management approval
  • Strong commitment to meet deadlines and complete all assigned tasks
  • Work in a team oriented environment collaborating with Software Asset Management, IT Finance, IT Regulatory Compliance, IT PMO, and IT Infrastructure support

  • Evaluate, select, and on-board new suppliers based on financial risk analysis, performance review, and the ability to meet necessary requirements to contract with EB
  • Detail oriented and have excellent organizational skills, with a demonstrated strong work ethic for completing tasks and assignments according to schedule
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team oriented environment
  • Ability to build relationships across all departments and levels within the organization
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and teams
  • Ability to manage supplier invoicing to ensure payment terms and performance milestones are met


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of experience in Materials Acquisition field or experience and proven record in contracting and cost negotiations in a sales or related career
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
Preferred:

  • Experience working in a highly-regulated industry such as DOD contracting
