SAIC is looking for a Communication Systems Security Engineer to support a very dynamic and innovative space program in Chantilly, VA. In this position, you will gain experience with acquiring and deploying the next generation of space assets including first of a kind satellite constellations with ground-breaking technology. This position will support space and ground communication systems security engineering efforts for the government program office’s major satellite programs. The job requires excellent communication skills and familiarity with NRO and NSA organization, processes, and systems.

Job Responsibilities:
- Supports the Government program office in a communications security engineering capacity for planning, execution, monitoring, and oversight of systems acquisitions
- Assisting the Government in development, coordination and approval of unique communication security approaches that comply with CNSSP-12
- Assist the Government with monitoring communications security implementations on multiple satellites, networks, and ground systems
- Provide support to Government customer by evaluating and monitoring communications security related elements (including cryptographic systems) of space vehicles, ground network gateways, network points of presence, and satellite operations facilities
- Developing documents and briefings to communicate work or study status, briefs Government and industry as required
- Reviewing Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables to ensure content, accuracy, and sufficiency to meet program requirements and objectives
- Participating in program reviews and technical interchange meetings between developers and COTR
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in engineering or business and relevant experience with communication or security engineering
- Experience with how NRO or space satellite systems are acquired
- Experience with network firewalls, cross domain systems, and cryptographic implementations
- Experience with space system implementation of National Security Space policies, to include CNSSP-12
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, team building and problem solving skills with a demonstrated ability to be effective in a government/contractor team environment
- TS/SCI with polygraph
