Job Description

The Scientist, Systems Engineer will lead design, integration, and certification activities for a Military Commercial Derivative Aircraft (MCDA) interior modification effort.

This role leads systems engineering execution across requirements management, architecture development, interface control documentation, integration, verification, validation, installation, and certification activities.

The position is based on site in Waco, Texas and includes up to 10% travel based on business needs.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform systems requirements management, system architecture development, and interface control documentation.
  • Guide the systems engineering team in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, installation, and certification activities.
  • Support Military Commercial Derivative Aircraft (MCDA) interior modification design, integration, and certification efforts.
  • Assist with equipment source selection activities and maintain supplier relationships through design, qualification, and production phases.
  • Travel up to 10% as needed based on business demand.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and at least 12 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree in Engineering and at least 10 years of related experience.
  • Experience with military commercial-derivative aircraft interior modifications involving design, integration, installation, and certification.
  • Experience across all phases of the Systems Engineering V-model and in applying Systems Engineering principles and processes.
  • Experience with 14 CFR Part 25 certification and with both commercial certification standards and military specifications and requirements.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience supporting equipment source selection and maintaining supplier relationships through design, qualification, and production phases.
  • Experience in program planning, technical guidance, and Engineering execution within scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
  • Experience supporting on-site aircraft modifications.
