Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Senior Staff Engineer Systems – Requirements and Architecture Development Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL.
**This is an Individual Contributor role**
The selected candidate will provide execution leadership to the Requirements and Architecture Development team and is responsible for technical oversight, programmatic oversight, and on-schedule development of the weapon system architecture and requirements. The selected candidate will work with the program Integrated Program Teams (IPTs) to ensure the developed weapon system meets all performance requirements and resolves technical and programmatic issues as they arise. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate strong leadership and relationship-building skills, a track record as an effective communicator, and a problem solver who can innovate while balancing new and traditional ways of doing business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize technical experience with anomaly resolution, internal and external technical change/ review coordination, and managing internal and external requirements and baseline control
- Utilize systems engineering experience with requirements and verification, integration, mission engineering/analysis, as well as general familiarity with system engineering specialty areas, such as cybersecurity, system safety, airworthiness, EMI/EMC, human factors, and modeling and simulation
- Responsible for the execution of the Systems Engineering Tasks (including performance, schedule, budget, and quality)
- Utilize leadership skills to plan, organize, communicate, and manage technical activities and to effectively motivate multiple disciplines to work as an integrated team across locations and organizations.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline AND 14 years of related professional/military experience OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 12 years of related professional/military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 10 years of related professional/military experience
- Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance (DoD must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.
- Must have prior experience leading a team in the development of system engineering architecture, requirements and verification activities
- Must have prior experience performing weapon system level design, integration, or test and evaluation.
- Must have demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems using Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) tools to include Cameo, CORE, and/or Rhapsody
- Must have practical experience and demonstrated expertise with DoDAF Framework
- Must be able to interface and communicate with Engineers and Management
- Must have strong technical writing and communication skills, and willingness to be flexible in evolving program environments
Preferred Qualifications:
- An understanding of tactical aircraft aero-performance, sensors, weapons, and communication
- Experience with developing and presenting technical documentation and briefings to the customer and organization leadership
- Active in-scope Top Secret clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $166,500.00 - $249,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
