Job Description

Amentum is seeking a Range Systems Administrator to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) Mission on Andros Island, Bahamas . AUTEC is a Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport's largest single team project, providing both deep and shallow water test and training environments. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

The Range Systems Administrator position is responsible for supporting the real-time environment. Support includes configuration management, quality assurance, server administration, and 24-hour troubleshooting

support.

Essential Responsibilities:

Configuration management of real time and posttest software environments

  • Generate change documentation as required by AUTECs change request processes.
  • Distribute real time software as builds are ready for deployment.
  • Distribute updated configuration items as needed.
  • Monitor government configuration management database.
  • Create/update documentation for range systems.

Software Quality Assurance

  • Generate requirement specification documents for real time software.
  • Write and execute test plans that ensure the software meets requirements set forth in requirement documentation.
  • Document all issues identified during test process and open tickets for software developers.
  • Execute test plans following operating system security updates.

Systems Administration Duties

  • Patch and test systems quarterly.
  • Monitor and manage retention of backup repository regarding the need to hold some items longer than the normal established policies.
  • Work with cyber security and vendor teams to make all security data available on the air-gapped networks.
  • Account management.
  • Windows, Active Directory and Linux System administration.
  • Act as the first point of contact for troubleshooting SAN and virtualization and other systems.
  • Real time software support.
  • Gain detailed knowledge of AUTEC’s real time software.
  • Understand user needs and software functions that meet their needs.
  • Provide troubleshooting support when software issues arise.
  • Periodic 24-hour on-call support during range events.

Administrative Support

  • Act as delegate for Property Control, perform office safety and security inspections, maintain security forms for secure rooms/safes, maintain required logs for security actions and maintain safe inventory for IT.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer related field and 2 years of experience in IT or related field or 6-years of equivalent, professional work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • CompTIA Security+ CE or must have with-in 30-days of signing offer and onboarding is contingent on certification completion.
  • Strong working knowledge of Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative abilities.
  • Must be able to reside in a remote location with limited medical facilities.
  • This position requires the individual to be eligible to obtain a US Government security clearance; this requires a US Citizenship.
  • Valid Driver’s License and passport are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current knowledge of AUTEC’s real time environment is a plus.
  • Microsoft Windows Certifications.
  • CompTIA A+, Linux+, Project+.
  • Experience with software/systems quality testing and documentation.

Compensation Details:

$62,000
