Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Quality Analyst (Levels 2 or 3) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals at our Northridge, CA location supporting the Advanced Weapons Business Unit. Qualified candidates must work as part of a team, demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, possess the ability to plan ahead and be customer- support focused.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Quality Analyst (Levels 2 or 3) supports the delivery of defense‑grade systems and components by executing rigorous quality assurance activities throughout the product lifecycle. The role emphasizes compliance with military standards, government regulations, and internal quality processes. The analyst works closely with cross functional teams to support non‑conformances, drive corrective actions, and ensure that all deliverables meet the stringent reliability, safety, and performance requirements of defense customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain accurate quality records in the Quality Management System and ensure audit readiness (e.g., ISO 9001, AS 9100, CMMI).
  • Support and update non‑conformance (NCRs) and corrective‑action reports (CARs).
  • Support and facilitate various meetings, such as Corrective Action Boards and Material Review Boards.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to reduce defect rates and improve product reliability.
  • Participate in and lead internal and external audits, and track corrective actions to closure.
  • Provide support to various other organizations (i.e. Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality Engineering, Supply Chain, Contracts, Finance, Material Management, etc.) to address program issues/concerns and to ensure requirements are achieved.
  • Communicate status of quality activities to stakeholders via dashboards, metrics, and regular briefings.
  • Ensure all activities comply with classified information handling procedures and facility security protocols.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS FOR LEVEL 2:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of quality assurance/analysis experience OR Master’s degree with 0 year of experience. 6 years of experience are required in lieu of a degree.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001, AS 9100, and relevant MIL‑STDs
  • Familiarity with failure investigation and root cause tools; strong root‑cause analysis capability
  • Ability to collect and interpret quality data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to create clear, concise reports for both technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Proficient MS Office skills, especially Excel for data analysis
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret security clearance

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS FOR LEVEL 3:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of quality assurance/analysis experience OR Master’s degree with 3+ year of the same experience. 9 years of experience are required in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001, AS 9100, Quality Management Systems, and relevant MIL‑STDs
  • Familiarity with failure investigation and root cause tools; strong root‑cause analysis capability
  • Have initiative, judgement, and ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Work well independently and demonstrate the skill and ability to perform complex professional tasks
  • Ability to collect and interpret quality data; translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to create clear, concise reports for both technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel for data analysis
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience in the aerospace, defense, or high‑technology sector
  • Quality auditing experience
  • AS9100 auditor certification/experience or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)
  • Functional knowledge and experience with TipQA, Costpoint, MES, SAP, and Tableau
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher)

Primary Level Salary Range: $75,800.00 - $113,800.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
