Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is hiring a Propulsion Structures Design Engineer(Senior) to support the Propulsion Product Development team in North Charleston, SC. This position will be based in Ladson, SC, which is a part of the North Charleston area.

In this role, you will support technology and product development for the next BCA airplane, as well as derivatives and improvement packages for existing BCA and Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) aircraft.

The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of nacelle design and manufacturing, advanced CATIA modeling skills, and experience with relational design, model-based engineering, systems engineering, and Set Based Design. They should be skilled in developing and maturing trade space maps for products and production systems, familiar with lean engineering practices, and experienced in technology development. You will join a high-performance team with world-class nacelle development expertise at PSC.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages technology development projects to understand and mature new tools, processes and methods that will dramatically improve the next generation of nacelles.

  • Designs and develops components, runs trade studies, and develops nacelle and propulsion architecture for the next BCA airplane program.

  • Coordinates extensively with Propulsion Product Development in the Northwest and other locations.

  • Works with and influences many other functions, many of which will be outside of PSC.

  • Works with vague, changing, and undeveloped requirements with little or no direction.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace/Aeronautical or Material Sciences).

  • 5+ years of experience with Propulsion Nacelle hardware.

  • 5+ years of experience with CATIA V5.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience with leading design, activation, and operation of manufacturing systems and processes specifically for nacelles, to include engine inlets, thrust reversers, fan cowl support beams, engine mounts, and primary exhaust systems.

  • Knowledge of Product Development processes and methods.

  • Experience working on technical projects-conducting requirements development, verification, test, and/or troubleshooting.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range : $126,650 - $171,350
