Project Superintendent

The Project Superintendent serves as the Prime Contractor’s senior on-site representative and is responsible for the overall management, coordination, and execution of construction activities at the project site. This position ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with contract requirements, quality standards, and applicable regulations. The Project Superintendent acts as the primary liaison between the Prime Contractor, subcontractors, and Government representatives.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide overall on-site leadership and management for construction projects.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage project schedules to meet contractual milestones and completion dates.
  • Monitor daily construction activities and ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Identify, evaluate, and resolve field issues, conflicts, and construction challenges in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, site-specific safety plans, and company policies.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and safety meetings to promote a safe working environment.
  • Coordinate project logistics, sequencing, and resource allocation to optimize productivity.
  • Maintain effective communication with project stakeholders, including Government representatives, project managers, subcontractors, and inspectors.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, daily logs, and progress updates.
  • Will perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of documented experience in construction project management or construction supervision.
  • Demonstrated experience managing construction schedules, coordinating subcontractors, resolving field issues, and overseeing day-to-day construction operations.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction methods, safety regulations, building codes, and industry best practices.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced construction environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Able to stand for long periods of time such as eight (8) to ten (10) hours, bend, kneel, and reach to store/retrieve supplies
  • Able to lift, carry, and push supplies and boxes up to 50 pounds
  • Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
  • May work in a typical office environment
