About Department 701 - Navy Facility Engineering & Training Technologies Group

Department 701, located at SUBASE Groton, CT, provides training support for submarines and facilities at forward sites in engineering, planning, logistics and modernization for all classes of submarines.

We are seeking a highly motivated professional with an interest in Finance and analytics to support program execution and reporting.

Role Overview

In this role, you will support financial and program management activities for D701 projects, with a focus on day-to-day execution, data entry, and routine reporting. This role supports accurate processing, documentation, and coordination under the guidance of senior staff.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey financial information to EB Program Finance, Contracts, Engineers, NAVSEA and DOD customers are critical to be successful in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support processing and maintenance of project funding, procurement, and cost data
  • Perform data entry and routine updates across finance systems and tracking tools
  • Prepare standard reports and recurring status updates
  • Support preparation, data entry and routing of financial and contract authorization documents including TIs, ITPSs, NAVCOMPTs, and contract modifications
  • Coordinate with Purchasing and internal department as directed
  • Respond to data requests under supervision

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-4 years experience performing financial analysis including reporting, reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Experience working with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience utilizing data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret security clearance

Preferred

  • Bachelors degree
  • Experience translating financial data into clear, actionable insights for broader audiences, with a strong attention to detail
  • Experience with EB Contracts, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Program Finance, and Planning
  • Experience with Oracle Business Intelligence suite
