The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS)organization is hiring amotivated, self-starting Production Systems Engineer into our Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Patriot Advanced Capability (PAC-3) program in Huntsville, Alabama.

Boeing is seeking a Production systems Engineer to support the Chief Engineer for the PAC-3 Seeker program.  Boeing produces and sustains seekers for the U.S. Army’s PAC-3 Missile system in Huntsville as a subcontractor to Lockheed Martin. The Ka band millimeter seeker is the product of decades of research and development — providing active guidance data for target acquisition, optimal aim point and terminal guidance to defeat threats. Boeing has produced more than 6,000 PAC-3 Missile seekers since 2000.  Boeing recently completed a 28,000-square-foot expansion of its facilities, as well as a 9,000-square-foot expansion of its Huntsville Electronics Center of Excellence, to increase production in support of growing air and missile defense needs. 

A successful Production Systems Engineer will demonstrate knowledge and experience across a wide range of disciplines necessary to lead large multi-disciplinary engineering teams. They will work cross functionality across the program to resolve emerging technical issues, and develop strategies to improve production and engineering processes.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the Production Systems Engineer for the program accountable for technical integrity and safety

  • Provide leadership to drive design integration, resolve technical issues, resolve supplier technical issues, and resolve requirements issues

  • Ensures technical baseline control and supports supplier technical oversight and direction

  • Identifies technical risks and ensures technical risks and issues are driven to resolution

  • Provide high impact, creative solutions to complex technical problems

  • Work both independently and as part of a team environment

  • Provide critical support and independent review of the work of teammates

  • Lead technical integration across a wide range of disciplines including systems engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, etc.

  • Leads Root Cause/Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations and resolution definition

  • Strong technical relationship with customers, businesses and the other functions

  • Lead engineering aspects of proposal preparation

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active) 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • 5 or more years of experience in production or manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 12 or more years of higher education and/or related work experience (Higher education includes college, university, technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc.)

  • Masters or Doctorate of Science degree in Engineering or related science or technology field degree

  • Experience using technical and program management techniques to manage large-scale technical production efforts

  • Experience with engineering processes and tools in a high rate production environment

  • Experience with Radar systems

  • Experience with Circuit Card Assembly and Production Processes

  • Experience with modernization of product and test equipment (DFM, DFT, DFA)

  • Extensive experience managing/leading large engineering projects

  • Proven experience effectively communicating and collaborating on multi-discipline teams

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range: $136,850 - $185,150
