This is a challenging opportunity that involves working with minimal supervision on the set-up and operation of a variety of numerically controlled and manual milling, turning, grinding, boring, drilling, and related machine tools.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform complicated precision operations to close tolerances working from verbal and written instructions, and at times, sketches and operation sheets.
  • Complete inspection of major and minor parts, sub assemblies, assemblies, and components to determine the accuracy of workmanship and functional performance.
  • Conduct dimensional inspection of parts and assemblies, including identification of non-conformance characteristics per instructions/procedures with improvised set-ups using height gages, surface plates, and indicators.
  • Perform CVP audits as required.
  • Perform assembly, pressing, forming, bending, hand benching, finishing, and sub-assembly operations using a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Perform any and all cell support duties including machine lubrication and cleaning, trucking, parts cleaning, and general shop housekeeping.

Requirements include:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years of milling or turning experience OR Combined experience in milling, drilling, boring, turning, broaching, clear cutting, or grinding with at least one year of milling or turning.
  • May also qualify with one or more years of R-17 Machine Varied, R-17 Machine Turn, or R-19 Precision Grinding.

Desirable qualifications:

  • At least 6 months of CNC milling.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of basic hand and power tools.
  • Experience with computers, applications, and keyboarding.
