Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman, Space Systems, is currently seeking Designers to support our Tooling Engineering team at our Bacchus (Magna), Utah facility.
The candidate will be responsible for concept development, modeling design, and the creation of fabrication drawings for tooling and support equipment used in Solid Rocket Motor applications.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Create 3D models and 2D drawings to be used in the manufacturing of new tooling, to support the production of rocket motors.
- Create effective and safe equipment that is used to manufacture, test, qualify, and transport rocket motors or rocket motor components.
- Interface with review team to ensure customer satisfaction with design.
- Work with internal Customers to concept needed support equipment for new and existing programs.
- Developing tooling concepts, creating/reviewing, and improving manufacturing processes to meet Customer requirements.
- Work closely with Tool Engineers to create models and final drawings.
- Understand/monitor cost and schedule.
- Review engineering drawings and designs for manufacturability.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience or an Associate’s degree plus 7 years of relevant professional experience, or a Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of relevant professional experience
- CAD modeling and 2D drafting experience. Siemens NX/Teamcenter preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge and application of GD&T (ASME Y14.5-2018).
- Knowledge and application of drawing weld symbols and application of AWS (American Weld Society) specifications.
- Knowledge of applicable OSHA Safety Standards.
