Mission Systems Category Management Team is looking for a Supply Chain Planning Specialist, reporting to the RF, Digital, and Foundry Category Manager. 

This position is instrumental in driving the supply base to provide consistently high-quality parts on schedule to support our customers and has visibility at all levels of the enterprise. This position can be worked out of Redondo Beach, CA or Linthicum, MD NG facilities.

Position Summary / Responsibilities:

The Category Management Planning Specialist will be supporting multiple programs with the RF, Digital and Foundry Category Suppliers across the Mission Systems Sector by aligning program needs and Sector Strategies.

  • Manage supplier performance and interface for MS Sector
  • Manage open orders, dock dates, and program communications/updates.
  • Lead supplier issue management, prioritization, and expediting.
  • Provide status and solutions on emerging issues with program supply chain personnel. Develop Return to Green (RTG) and milestone plans as necessary.
  • Create and maintain Supplier Management Plans (SMP), Supplier Production Readiness Reviews (SPRR), Supplier Business Reviews (SBR), and assist with Enterprise Strategic/Sourcing Agreements (LTPA/LTSA).
  • Define and develop material strategy for on-time supplier delivery.
  • Proactively assess delivery risks and collaborate with Programs.
  • Analyze, aggregate, and prioritize supply/demand requirements.
  • Plan inventory, distribution, production, material, and rough-cut capacity.
  • Participate in make/buy decisions, long-term capacity/resource planning, product phase-in/phase-out, ramp-up, end-of-life, and strategic agreements.
  • Use Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools to analyze purchase material supply/demand position.
  • Plan inventory levels based on Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements and adjust supply as needed.
  • Review requirements for non-standard parts, analyze lead times, and identify critical path procurements.
  • Negotiate and manage supplier relationships, implement performance metrics, and support cross functional teams in supply base risk/opportunity analysis.
  • Ability to bring matters/issues to successful closure
  • Ability to regularly present information to leadership
  • Experience with team collaboration
  • Experience in resolving problems with peers or customers

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and a minimum of 5 years experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, and/or Program GSC experience; Masters degree and a minimum of 3 years experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, and/or Program GSC experience
  • Experience working in SAP, MS Office
  • Experience managing suppliers
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret Clearance

Preferred qualifications:

  • ASCM/APICS Supply Chain Certification
  • Six Sigma or Lean certifications
  • PowerBI
  • PMP trained or certified
  • Experience with program management, manufacturing, or quality assurance.
  • Current active DOD Secret Clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $89,900.00 - $141,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
