Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Aircrew Flight Equipment, (formerly known as Survival Equipment and Life Support) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be co-located in Palmdale, CA and Edwards AFB as required.
This position Identifies, procures, inspects, repairs, and performs maintenance on the following aircrew flight equipment: flight helmets, oxygen masks, survival kits and survival items, and torso harnesses. Install /remove aircraft survival kits and service emergency oxygen bottles. This position also assists flight crewmembers with preflight preparations and post flight procedures. It also maintains equipment inspection records, publications and Air Force Technical Orders along with other additional duties such as: Supply, HAZCOM, Calibration Tools, Training, Consolidated Tool Kits (CTKs), and Explosive Safety. Ensures survival equipment complies with Flight Safety, Company, and customer standards. Conducts Ground Egress Training for Pilots and performs Aircrew Flight Equipment Fit Checks and may be called on to familiarize company and customer flight crewmembers with all escape and survival techniques such as ejection seat systems, water/land survival, and personal equipment and its operations. The selected candidate must also assist Human Factors, Crew Station Engineering and Special Projects by providing aircrew equipment requirements. This position requires the person to work flexible hours in order to support flight test schedules .

Basic Qualifications for Principal Flight Test Technician
- Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED with 4 years of Aircrew Flight Equipment and/or Life Support or other relevant experience
Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 25 pounds, and working overhead
Ability to work a flexible schedule, to support flight schedule
Able to organize and perform duties with minimum supervision
- Have good written and verbal communication
- Work well with peers, aircrew members and supervisors/managers
Basic Qualifications for Sr Principal Flight Test Technician
- Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED with 6 years of Aircrew Flight Equipment and/or Life Support or other relevant experience
- Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 25 pounds, and working overhead
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, to support flight schedule
- Able to organize and perform duties with minimum supervision
- Have good written and verbal communication
- Work well with peers, aircrew members and supervisors/managers
Preferred Qualifications:
- Transitioning service member or veteran of the U.S. military service or current military guard or reserve member.
- Active DOD Secret Clearance with an investigation date/periodic review within the last 5 years
