Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Sector is seeking a Principal Financial Analyst

This position will report to the Manager of Financial Reporting and perform financial reporting activities for our Defense Systems Sector. This high impact role will work closely with sector, division, and program business management teams. The position will require sitting onsite in McLean, Virginia.
 

Position Responsibilities and duties include:

  • Assist with the sector monthly and quarterly financial close deliverables

  • Coordinate and consolidate financial statements

  • Maintain month-end closing documentation

  • Assist with preparation of year-end financial reporting packages and tax packages

  • Prepare financial statement analytics and other quarterly management reports

  • Provide audit support related to SOX, internal, and external financial statement audits

  • Support Financial Reporting SOX compliance and maintain evidence of the operation of controls

  • Provide financial reporting support for special projects

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience or a Master’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience, Must have 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.

  • Experience with financial statements and general accounting principles

  • Must be able to work onsite in McLean, Virginia.

**Directly relevant Public Accounting may account for an additional year of experience for each year of relevant experience**

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Public accounting experience

  • Certified public accountant

  • Experience with SAP and Hyperion Financial Management

  • Prior experience in the aerospace and defense industry

  • Self-motivated, yet functions well in a team environment

  • Detail and results oriented; ability to deliver timely and accurate results under time sensitive conditions

  • Analytical; makes recommendations using acquired data and cumulative experience.

  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills

Primary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
