As a Principal/Engineer Mission Assurance - Level 2 or 3, your role in Chandler, AZ will be pivotal in supporting missions critical to national and global security. In this job, you will:

  • Define and monitor mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure mission success of programs.

  • Perform or assure quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with contractual requirements.

  • Assess program performance and risks and determine resources to ensure mission assurance.

Due to the sensitive nature of our work this is a fully on-site position; hybrid or remote work is not available. Relocation is not available for this role.

This position can be filled at either a Level 2 or Level 3.

Basic Qualifications for Level 2

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of related experience – OR – Master’s degree with 0 years of related experience.   

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance

  • Familiarity with customer and internal requirements implementation and flow-down

  • Interdepartmental collaboration and communication skills

  • Experience developing and working to an AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS)

  • Ability to work overtime and travel as needed

Basic Qualifications for Level 3:

  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering +5 years of experience; Masters Degree + 3 years of experience

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance

  • Familiarity with customer and internal requirements implementation and flow-down

  • Interdepartmental collaboration and communication skills

  • Experience developing and working to an AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS)

  • An advanced understanding of Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) analysis (5-WHY, Fishbone, 8D).

  • Technical background in Ammunitions and Explosives (A&E)

  • Ability to work overtime and travel as needed

 

Your Distinct Strengths:

  • Demonstrated skill with process improvement projects

  • Strong technical writing skills

 

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

  • Active U.S. Government security clearance of Secret or above

  • Experience working in the Aerospace industry

  • Extensive experience with RCCA analysis, investigation, and implementation

  • Experience with DCMA and USAF as customer base

  • Experience generating QMS command media

  • Team leadership experience

  • Ability to Mentor/train new hires

We work a 9/80 schedule (9 hours per day Mon-Thurs, 8 hours every other Friday with the alternate Friday off)

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
