Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) is seeking motivated, talented, and experienced Engineering Chief of Staff to join the Weapons Systems Engineering Team in Saint Charles, Missouri.

The SI&WS Precision Strike organization is dynamic and growing with a leadership team focused on attracting and developing top talent in support of critical missions on Direct Attack (DA) and Cruise Missiles Systems (CMS) programs. Connected to our customers' missions, we deliver unique capabilities through our exceptional talent.  The programs that we support in Saint Charles, Missouri include Direct Attack weapons (JDAM, SDB, MOP, HAAWC, GLSDB, JDAM-LR, NGP and associated derivatives) and Cruise Missiles (SLAM ER, Harpoon legacy and development weapons) utilized on various Military Aircraft and some Ground-Based Platforms. 

The Engineering Chief of Staff is expected to partner across BDS Divisions, SI&WS site leadership and Enterprise Engineering teams to establish and ensure operational excellence to run a stable and healthy SI&WS engineering organization. This role requires the ability to work in an extremely dynamic environment, quickly produce results and influence leaders across various sites to effectively lead in this role.  This position will support in the development and execution of strategy, communications, and operating rhythm for the Engineering.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Ensure organizational alignment with Boeing processes, Program Management Best Practices, and compliance requirements.

  • Interface with program management, engineering, finance & HR for alignment of staffing levels

  • Partner with managers to fulfill requisitions for all open engineering positions

  • Mobilize available resources for attendance and recruitment at targeted external hiring events

  • Drive Intern hiring and placement, on-boarding of new hires, interns & transfers

  • Creation and execution of talent initiatives to address development of employees, including manager level (Technical or management path). This will include mentorship, rotations, tech fellow applications and development opportunities within Precision Strike Engineering and partnering with the greater BDS STL region

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Technical Bachelor's, Master's or a PhD degree (A technical degree is defined as any four-year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, engineering, scientific or information technology field of study)

  • 5+ years of experience in engineering management or leadership role

  • Experience in applying engineering processes and principles

  • Strong operational and analytical skills, with a strategic and action-oriented mind-set

  • Ability to synthesize complex and diverse data to formulate actionable business cases and recommendations

  • Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Ability to work under minimal direction

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Staffing/hiring experience

  • Capacity to work collaboratively and effectively with a wide range of people (C suite to apprentices), build relationships, be diplomatic, and exhibit sensitivity to and understanding of the dynamics of a complex organization

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range: $146,200 - $197,800
