This position will support the HR Service Center, and the selected candidate will report to the Manager, Advanced Analytics & Products. The location for this position is Irving, TX with the opportunity for a hybrid telework arrangement.
At Northrop Grumman, People AI & Analytics is a core domain within our Insights & Intelligence (i2) organization. As part of our Chief Information & Digital Office (CIDO), i2 works with all enterprise domains and businesses to drive our data, analytics & AI transformation.
As a People Insights Analyst, you will conduct quantitative analyses and develop innovative data products that help to answer challenging workforce questions. Through these efforts, you will enable the HR Service Center to monitor performance effectively, identify trends, and make informed decisions that support continuous improvement and operational excellence. This position will work closely with service line leaders to gain an understanding of functional processes, provide actionable insights, and drive performance that aligns with organizational goals and strategy.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Analyzing business requirements and processes to identify metric needs and opportunities for performance monitoring (e.g., customer satisfaction, service level agreements, case volume metrics, case resolution times, etc.).
Collaborating with business leaders to define, develop, and maintain business metrics and KPIs that align with organizational goals.
Defining data requirements, gathering and validating information, while also applying sound judgment for people-related business problems and workforce management decisions.
Creating strategic analyses by forming structured hypotheses, identifying patterns in data using quantitative methods and effective data visualizations, and deriving insights that drive decision making and operational improvements.
Developing and maintaining innovative products that leverage data and advanced analytics.
Driving analytics projects from initial concept through deployment, leveraging opportunities for automation.
Providing training and support to stakeholders on data analysis tools and metrics interpretation.
Conducting benchmarking against industry standards and competitors to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
Staying abreast of industry trends and methodologies and contributing innovative ideas to drive business value.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
This role can be performed by a level 3 (mid-career) Analyst or a level 4 (senior-career) Analyst.
Basic Qualifications:
Level 3: Bachelor’s degree with with at least 5 years of related professional experience - OR - a Master’s degree with at least 3 years of related professional data analytics experience - OR - a PhD with at least 1 year of related professional data analytics experience.
Level 4: Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of related professional experience - OR - a Master’s degree with at least 6 years of related professional data analytics experience - OR - a PhD with at least 4 years of related professional data analytics experience.
Must have experience conducting benchmarking against industry standards and competitors to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
Must have the ability to extract and manipulate data from databases using SQL and write custom queries. Familiarity with common table expressions and building views.
Must have the ability to apply quantitative and statistical approaches to answer questions using data.
Must be proficient using an object-oriented programming language (e.g., Python or R) to conduct analysis and create visualizations.
Must be proficient in data visualization using Tableau or similar dashboarding tools.
Must have experience in data storytelling - creating compelling, concise narratives to communicate developed insights.
Must have experience collaborating on projects across teams, managing relationships, and communicating findings to audiences.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in a quantitative field (engineering, mathematics, economics, statistics, computer science, etc.).
Experience with people or talent-related data
Experience creating metrics for a service-oriented business that includes customer engagement and support.
Experience with ServiceNow platform analytics and Workday reporting.
