As the On Wing Support HR Partner | DFW & PIT, you will serve as the strategic and hands-on HR partner for two sites: our Ft. Worth, Texas On Wing Support site (performing traditional overhaul repair workscopes in shop and in the field with a future engine test cell) and our Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania engine test cell.

In this role, you will act as a partner to operations leaders supporting a production workforce in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment. This role drives Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost outcomes by executing core HR processes and coaching leaders on day-to-day people matters across both sites. Key focus areas include workforce planning and staffing to support operations, employee relations, attendance and leave administration, policy interpretation, corrective action, skills development, and engagement. The HR Partner analyzes people data to identify trends, mitigates risk, and implements practical solutions that improve retention, productivity, and compliance.

As an individual contributor, this role partners cross-functionally with EHS, Quality, Operations, Finance, and additional HR functions to ensure consistent application of policies, supports investigations and issue resolution on the shop floor and in the test cell, and leads continuous improvement across HR processes while modeling a respectful, inclusive culture. The role is based in Ft. Worth, Texas, with periodic travel to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Act as an available first point of contact for questions and guidance on fundamental HR topics and issues, and help employees and managers at both Ft. Worth and Pittsburgh navigate self-service and HR COE resources.

  • Be regularly visible “at the Genba” (on the floor/flight line and in the test cell) at both sites to build trust, understand work conditions, and respond quickly to employee and leader needs.

  • Lead and conduct key HR processes including recruiting, onboarding, and orientation for both sites to support hiring and growth in a dynamic OWS and engine test environment.

  • Provide dedicated guidance and coaching to leaders, managers, and employees with specific focus on HR and people leadership fundamentals and process training, ensuring consistency across both locations.

  • Provide advice and counsel to managers and employees to ensure consistent application and integration of policies, procedures, and practices at 100% compliance to promote an ethical, inclusive, and compliant work environment.

  • Execute recruiting action plans including community outreach to technical schools, external organizations, and other talent sources to build pipelines aligned to On Wing Support and test cell needs.

  • Support workforce planning and staffing for variable/extended-hour operations driven by 24/7 AOG support, quick-turn shop activity, and engine test schedules.

  • Deliver people leader training on front-line leadership, consistent application of policy, performance management, and HR systems and tools.

  • Lead HR process improvements (standard work, SOPs, digital tools) to save time, reduce errors, and improve the experience for employees and managers across both sites.

  • Maintain accurate HRIS data integrity and reporting cadence for both Ft. Worth and Pittsburgh, ensuring timely and accurate HR transactions.

  • Explain complex information to others in straightforward situations, including translating HR policies and programs into practical guidance for front-line leaders.

  • Conduct impartial investigations, recommend outcomes, and manage case closure timelines on employee relations matters, partnering with Legal and HR COEs as needed.

  • Ensure that all employee relations issues are properly identified, reported, investigated, and resolved in line with GE Aerospace policies and local regulations.

  • Utilize technical expertise and judgment to solve problems, leveraging analytical thinking and multiple internal sources (HR, Legal, EHS, Operations) to arrive at decisions.

  • Use people data and analytics to identify trends in areas such as attrition, attendance, engagement, performance, and safety, and recommend practical, data-driven actions for both sites.

  • Lead or support site-wide HR projects or initiatives that may include On Wing Support US sites, working across multiple client groups and functions.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with EHS, Quality, Operations, Finance, and Payroll to support operational readiness, audits, and continuous improvement efforts.

  • Support core HR cycles including performance and development processes, talent reviews, and compensation planning, ensuring consistent execution across both locations.

  • Assist with other HR special projects or initiatives as needed, including integration of new tools, processes, or organizational changes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in related area OR bachelor’s degree in an unrelated area with 4 years of HR experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources and/or relevant work experience (roles that involve the application of labor and employment principles, operational and business management).

  • Experience supporting a production workforce in an operations, manufacturing, maintenance, or similar environment.

  • Ability and willingness to periodically travel between Ft. Worth, TX and Pittsburgh, PA to provide on-site HR partnership.

  • Legal authorization to work in the country of hire is required.

  • Knowledge and application of lean methodologies and continuous improvement tools.
  • Active user and promoter of FLIGHT DECK, GE Aerospace’s proprietary lean operating systems, to standardize work, analyze and solve problems, and create operating rhythms.
  • Prior HR experience working in a manufacturing, MRO, test cell, or similar operational setting, or in an environment supporting a large hourly population.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills; approachable and able to connect with employees at all levels and diffuse tense situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems, including using data and analytics to drive decisions.

  • Applies solid judgment ensuring integrity, compliance, and confidentiality in all HR matters.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, 24/7 support environment.
