Occupational Hygienist/Industrial Hygienist
Summary
Job Description
The Occupational Hygienist is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the Occupational Hygiene program to ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations, both US and Australian, and company policies. The role supports a multi-disciplined facility located southwest of Alice Springs, providing a self-sufficient operational environment with services such as power generation, water supply, waste management, chemical use, maintenance, warehousing, dining, health, and fitness facilities.
Qualifications
· Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Hygiene, Asbestos, Environmental Science, or a related field.
· Experience in occupational hygiene assessments.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
· Certifications: Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) for US citizens; membership in the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists (AIOH) for AUS citizens is desirable.
Tickets and Licenses
· Essential: Driver’s Licence.
· Desirable: Construction Induction (White Card), Working at Heights, Confined Space Entry, Gas testing.
Experience and Skills
· 3-5 years of work experience in the occupational hygiene field.
· Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and data entry.
· High-level communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and in collaboration with a motivated group of Health Professionals.
· Strong planning and organizational skills.
Work Environment and Demands
· Ability to lift up to 20 kg independently.
· Involvement in approximately equal time office work and standing/moving fieldwork.
· The position encompasses fieldwork in industrial spaces such as power plants and exterior areas in high-heat locations.
· Constant use of vision and mental alertness is required.
Security Clearance Requirement Employment at JDFPG requires obtaining and maintaining an NV1 Department of Defence Security Clearance (Australian). The role also requires medical clearance applicable to the position.
