Job Description:
Network Engineer
- We are seeking a reliable and skilled network engineer to join the Marine Corps Afloat C4 Systems Integration Team (AC4SIT), dedicated to supporting naval integration of Marine Corps C4I systems. In this role, you will work with Government professionals and Marines operating on amphibious ships to validate the installation, configurations and performance of network services, and apply technical solutions and coordination to resolve information exchange problems. Join our team and you will further your skills in systems technology/engineering, gain experience with the naval shipboard environment, and help deliver enterprise solutions.
Job Description
Responsibilities include:
- Naval Integration Support to Enterprise technical assessments and guidance to integrate systems to dedicated network resources on ship
- Provide onboard and remote technical support/guidance and conduct network assessments to Marine network administrators aboard Navy L-Class ships.
- LAN architecture troubleshooting and resolution of network traffic-flow issues over complex, multi node, tactical WAN/LAN environments.
- Develop integrated naval enterprise logical and physical LAN architectures
- Configuring and troubleshooting Microsoft Server 2016-2019, Microsoft Exchange Server 2013-2019, Active Directory, and DNS.
- Configuring and troubleshooting vCenter 5.x/6.x/7.x and VSAN.
- Experience troubleshooting the implementation of HBSS, ACAS, PKI Repeater/Responders, and other USMC tactical applications.
- Solid and practical understanding of Cisco Routing & Switching to include: Fundamentals of routing and switching, Routing Protocols, Access Control Lists, VLANs, VLAN Trunking, Subnetting, 802.1X NAC, and Secure Group Tagging.
- Configure and troubleshoot tactical VTC/VOIP systems.
- Create, modify, and troubleshoot firewall rules and configurations.
- Troubleshoot tactical radio and SATCOM connections to shipboard WAN/LAN.
- Participating in the development of future network requirements for USMC Developing job aids to assist Marines when integrating onto shipboard networks.
- Participate in joint service working groups to convey USMC technical requirements to Navy and USMC stakeholders evaluating and preparing shipboard networks to ensure WAN/LAN systems are prepared for embarking Marine Forces.
- Developing, implement testing strategies, and document results.
Required Qualifications:
- Must possess and maintain a Secret Clearance
- Experience operating in deployed environments
- 4+ years practical experience supporting USMC or DoW network systems/projects
- Possess DoW 8570.01M Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II Certification
- Ability to travel 15% of time annually to work on-site, in a naval shipboard environments
- Experience providing technical support to customers
- Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network administration and support.
Desired Qualifications:
- CISCO CCNA or CCNP Certificates
- Experience with Software-Defined Wide Area Networking (SD-WAN)
- Experience supporting joint service projects

The likely salary range for this position is $93,500 - $126,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
