Come join department 604 as a Network Administrator! Electric Boat is vastly enchancing its workforce and now is your time to take part of our growing submarine industry.
As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of our network infrastructure.
You will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our network, and work closely with cross-functional teams to support and maintain network systems.
Responsibilities
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience with network automation and scripting tools (e.g., Python, Ansible, Terraform).
- Knowledge of software-defined networking (SDN) and network virtualization.
- Familiarity with WAN optimization and network performance tuning tools.
- Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG).
- Understanding of network protocols like BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.
- Familiarity with network security tools such as VPN, IDS/IPS, and DDoS protection.
- Experience with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git for infrastructure as code (IaC).
Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years in networking engineering, systems engineering, or network security engineering or cloud network engineering
- Hands-on experience with network devices (routers, switches, firewalls) and network monitoring tools
Preferred:
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs, and routing/switching.
- Familiarity with network security best practices and tools (IDS/IPS, firewalls, etc.).
- Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or Juniper JNCIA.
- Experience with cloud networking, SDN, or similar technologies
- Hands-on experience with load balancing and traffic management technologies.
