***This position is physically located in the Marshall Islands in support of LOGCAP***
Designs plans for mechanical and plumbing systems for new and existing facilities and develops building construction and building renovation projects to include mechanical and plumbing systems such as HVAC, Fire Protection and other related systems while working closely with other team members. Develops project specifications and drawings while considering the implications such as cost, safety and time constraints within the responsibility of compliance in design.
Analyzes building components to determine Heat Load Calculation. Develops energy management schemes for various systems with calculations and payback periods when requested. Evaluates and reports on existing systems and recommends alternatives. Conducts standard building inspections and develops punch lists for related systems and operation methodologies. Consults with client to ensure Project Requirements/Letter of Justification (LOJ) are met. Generates Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCE) for projects. Prepares or modifies reports, plans, and construction schedules. Inspects construction activities to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, construction and safety standards, i.e. Quality Control Inspections. Utilize the AutoCAD software and equipment to prepare engineering and design.

- Coordinate with customer to develop detailed project program
- Determine feasibility of design approaches
- Create plans and designs of building mechanical systems
- Develop Statements of Work (SOW)
- Provide Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCE)
- Use AUTO-CAD design software
- Inspect construction activities
Material & Equipment Directly Used
- Computer, cell phone, vehicle and other office equipment
- AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Specs Intact, Designing and drafting of Mechanical Engineering plans
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized educational institute
- Must be a licensed Professional Engineer in the USA
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and host nation Driver’s License, is required.
- Experience:
- Must have five (5) years' of experience in the field
- Must demonstrate a high degree of English comprehension, including speaking, understanding, reading, writing, and typing
- Must be capable of speaking clearly to an audience and provide presentations
- Familiarity with US Military Engineering Regulations helpful but not mandatory
- Knowledge and working familiarity and application of; IBC, OSHA, ASME, ASHRAE, UFC and NFPA. SpecIntact knowledge is preferred

- Working Conditions:
- The engineer works in an airconditioned office, has access to a computer, CADD and Internet
- The engineer is required to do field work, gather information relevant to an assigned project, conduct project site visit during construction to insure contractors work is done in accordance with contract drawings and documents, resolve issues as required during construction
- In this position, there is exposure to prolonged high ambient temperatures and extreme dust (i.e. - dust storms, humidity, etc.) during summer months, disagreeable noise elements (e.g. Power Plant) where serious accidents or injuries may occur
- Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
- The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
- Physical Requirements:
- Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
- Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
- Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
