Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Master Manufacturing Technician 2nd Shift  – Level 4 to join our team in Chandler, AZ.

   

This position is fully on-site.  Relocation assistance is not available.

This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

The Successful Candidate:

  • Performs a variety of duties including, but not limited to, fastening, assembly, assisting engineers in the development of engineering designs, tests, fabrications, modifications, assemblies, and components.
  • Drafts detailed drawings for fabrication.
  • Devises, fabricates, and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies.
  • Sets up and tests complete prototype units and subassemblies under operational conditions.
  • Analyzes data and recommends modifications to components or test procedure to meet desired specifications.
  • This is a highly skilled nonexempt role and typically is deployed to multiple programs and must be able to perform more than one of the following duties: mechanical technician, harnesses technician, electronic technician, flight test technician, and/or general technician duties.
  • Must have clearances to perform rework task, be flexible for potential travel opportunities, assist with the development of other team members, share knowledge effectively, and maintain strong communication skills.

  

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience within manufacturing.   
  • Requires an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
  • Proficient with work instructions, engineering drawings, and technical manuals to perform a variety of electro/mechanical assembly operations on moderate to complex assemblies and sub-assemblies used in the aerospace industry
  • Experience with connector population, wire cutting, contact crimping, wire/cable routing, component installation, hardware torque and general mechanical assembly of chassis, racks, test sets and/or other electrical-mechanical boxes
  • Ability to mentor and train peers and newer technicians
  • Document actions by completing production plans and complying with quality standards and requirements from engineering drawings, instructions, parts lists, and schematics
  • Able and willing to work 2nd shift:  3:30pm-1:00am

 Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Familiar with Northrop Grumman processes
  • J-STD-001 Certification (Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies)
  • IPC-A-610 Certification (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies)
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification (Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies)

Primary Level Salary Range: $74,500.00 - $124,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
