Job Overview

We are seeking a 2nd Shift Manufacturing Engineer, to play a crucial role in the development and optimization of manufacturing processes for our autonomous surface vessels. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient and cost-effective production of high-quality ASVs for the DoD.

Responsibilities

  • Process Development: Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for the production of autonomous surface vessels. Implement lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste in the production workflow

  • Collaboration: Work closely with design and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of design specifications into the manufacturing process. Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source and qualify materials necessary for production

  • Quality Assurance: Establish and implement quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of product quality. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for any production issues

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and implement changes to enhance efficiency. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to incorporate advancements into the manufacturing process

  • Documentation and Compliance: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards. Work closely with regulatory bodies to ensure all manufacturing processes adhere to applicable standards

  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to production personnel to ensure proper execution of manufacturing processes. Troubleshoot and address any issues that may arise during the production process

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus

  • Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, particularly in the production of complex electromechanical systems

  • Familiarity with autonomous systems, robotics, or maritime technologies is highly desirable

  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies

  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to autonomous maritime systems
